How to create images and videos of yourself or others on Meta AI and Vibes

The Meta AI and Vibes apps and websites are not yet available everywhere. If they are available for you, some features may not yet be available in your area.

You can create images or videos of yourself or other people on the Meta AI and Vibes apps.

To get started:

  • Take and upload photos of yourself to create AI images and videos of yourself. You can also let others add you to images and videos.
  • Request permission to add your friends to images or videos. You may be able to make images and videos of mutual friends already, depending on their settings.

How to start making AI images and videos of yourself

You’ll need to add photos of yourself to the Meta AI or Vibes app to create images and videos of yourself. You can also choose to let others create images or videos of you too.

To get started:

  1. In the Meta AI app, tap Menu.
  2. Tap your profile picture at the bottom.
  3. Tap Your likeness, then Get started.
  4. Next you’ll be asked:
    • To allow permissions.
    • To take a photo of yourself using the app.
  5. You can optionally:
    • Upload 3 additional photos of yourself. This helps us improve your AI images.
    • Record your voice so it can be added to videos.
  6. You can tap Skip if you don’t want to add additional images or your voice to your likeness.
  7. Tap to select who can use your image:
    • Only me: Only you can create images and videos of yourself.
    • Followers I approve: Select specific followers that can add you to media. You must both already follow each other.
    • Followers I follow back: Anyone you follow can add you to images and videos, as long as you follow them back.
    • Everyone: Anyone on the Meta AI or Vibes app can create images and videos of you.
  8. Tap Done.

Note: You may not see all options depending on your age or country.

How to edit or delete your photo and voice from Meta AI and Vibes

  1. In the Meta AI app, tap Menu.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the lower right.
  3. Tap Your likeness. From here you can:
    • Retake your photo: Tap Retake photo > Take photo.
    • Change your reference photos: Tap Upload photos > Replace photos.
    • Rerecord your voice: Tap Rerecord voice > Record voice.
    • Delete your likeness: Scroll and then tap Delete. This deletes the photo and voice recording you took during onboarding.

Note: Any changes you make to your likeness in the Vibes app will also be applied to the Meta AI app.

If you choose to delete your likeness, vibes that include you will still be visible. You can delete these from “Media that includes me.” Learn more about how to delete media that includes you.

How to request to add people to AI generated images or videos

People can choose who can add them to images and videos, whether it’s only themselves, mutual followers, or anyone using the Meta AI or Vibes apps. You can also send a request to someone to add them to images or videos.

For someone to create images or videos of you, they’ll need your permission. To change your permission settings:

  1. In the Meta AI app, tap Menu.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the lower right.
  3. Tap Your likeness, then choose who can add you to media:
    • Only me: Only you can create images and videos of yourself.
    • Followers I approve: Select specific followers that can add you to media. You must both already follow each other.
    • Followers I follow back: Anyone you follow can add you to media, as long as you follow them back.
    • Everyone: Anyone on the Meta AI or Vibes app can create images and videos of you.

Note: You may not see all options depending on your age or country.

If someone uses your likeness, you’ll be notified. Learn how to change your notifications on Meta AI and Vibes. When someone creates an image or video that includes you, you can choose to delete it. Learn more about how to delete media that includes you.

Notes:

  • You can change your permissions at any time.
  • Your permissions apply to both the Meta AI and Vibes apps.
  • If you choose to unfollow or block someone, they won’t be able to create new images or videos including you anymore. Any previous media they created will remain, but you can still delete it.

To ask someone to add them to a vibe while remixing a vibe:

  1. Tap Add.
  2. Tap Request. You’ll see your friends on the Meta AI and Vibes apps and Instagram.
  3. Tap Request next to their name.

When you send someone a request:

  • They’ll be notified that you want to add them to images and videos you create on Meta AI and Vibes.
  • If they don’t have the Meta AI or Vibes app downloaded yet, they’ll be invited to download it.
  • If they don’t have a likeness created yet, they’ll be asked to make one.

You’ll be notified if they accept your request, then you can start creating images and videos of them. Learn how to change your notifications on Meta AI and Vibes.

How to create images and videos including people

You can add yourself or others to an existing vibe by remixing it, or create new images or videos of yourself or others.

To remix an existing vibe and add yourself:

  1. Select a vibe with people in it.
  2. Tap Remix on the post you’d like to remix.
  3. Tap Add.
  4. Tap your picture.

To add yourself to a new image or video:

  1. Open the Meta AI app.
  2. Tap Create in the top right.
  3. Type your prompt into the Describe an image or video… box and include the words “me” or “myself” as part of your prompt. For example, “Create a video of me as an astronaut.”
  4. Tap Send.

To remix an existing vibe:

  1. Select a vibe with people in it.
  2. Tap Remix on the post you’d like to remix.
  3. Tap Add.
  4. Tap the name of the person you want to add. You can add one person at a time (including yourself).

To add people to a new image or video:

  1. Open the Meta AI app.
  2. Tap Create in the top right.
  3. Type your prompt into the Describe an image or video… box and include "@" and then the person’s username to add them into the image or video. You can add up to two people at one time (including yourself).
  4. Tap Send.

If you post a vibe that includes someone, they’ll be notified.

Vibes and drafts you create (including drafts you have not posted) can be viewed and deleted by the person featured in them:

  • The person you feature in a vibe can choose to delete your public vibes or drafts that include them. For public vibes, you’ll receive a notification when something is deleted.
  • You won’t be notified when drafts are deleted. If you notice a draft is missing, it may have been deleted by the person you featured.

How to delete other people’s vibes that include you

  1. In the Meta AI app, tap Menu.
  2. Tap your profile picture at the bottom.
  3. Tap Your likeness, then Media that includes me.
    • Vibes: Tap Options, then tap Delete.
    • Drafts: Tap on the draft, then tap Delete.

You'll be notified when someone uses the 'add' feature in the Meta AI or Vibes app to create and post a vibe that includes you. You can choose to delete public vibes or drafts including you at any time. When you delete a public vibe, the person that created it will be notified. When you delete a draft, the person that created it won't be notified.

  • Depending on your prompt, the content generated may go against our Community Standards or Terms of Service of Meta's platforms. Sharing AI-generated content on our platforms that go against these standards will be treated the same as sharing other content that go against our standards. If you share generated content that goes against our standards, your content may be removed and your account may be restricted or disabled.
