Use and manage third party app connections in Meta AI

Updated:3 weeks ago

You can manage connections across your accounts to third party apps, like calendars, emails and others, in Accounts Center. Meta AI can then use information from your third party app to personalize responses when you interact with it. Personalized information may be sent to the third party apps you connect to enable that app to provide a personalized response.

Note: Not all third party apps are used in generating responses. When you connect an app you’ll see what connecting that app will let you do along with information about what kind of data is shared. If you have a Meta device connected to Meta AI, such as AI glasses, connecting an app may give you additional features on that device. When you connect a third party app to an account in an Accounts Center, the other accounts in the same Accounts Center that use Meta AI assistant can also use the data and features from connecting the third party app.

Connect your third party app

  1. Open the Meta AI app and tap Menu in the top left.
  2. Tap Settings in the bottom left.
  3. Tap Accounts Center, then tap Your information and permissions.
  4. Tap App Connections.
  5. Tap Connect next to the app you want to add.
  6. Tap Yes, connect.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup. You’ll need to sign in to the account you’re connecting to continue.

Depending on the app you connect, Meta AI may be able to take actions for you or use its information when you ask it questions. For example, if you connect a calendar app and an email app you can prompt Meta AI with questions and requests like:

  • “What time tomorrow is my flight? Also, what’s the flight number?”
  • “Add dinner next Friday at 7pm to my calendar.”
  • “Summarize any emails from yesterday I haven’t replied to.”
  • “Do I have anything planned for next weekend?"

You can disconnect your third party app at any time. After you disconnect your app, Meta AI will no longer be able to access its data.

Disconnect your third party app

  1. Open the Meta AI app and tap Menu in the top left.
  2. Tap Settings in the bottom left.
  3. Tap Accounts Center, then tap Your information and permissions.
  4. Tap App Connections.
  5. Tap the app you want to disconnect.
  6. Tap Disconnect then Yes, disconnect.
