Why media captured in Meta Quest shows up in your Facebook or Instagram photo galleries

Updated:2 weeks ago
We’re gradually updating people to Meta Accounts. You may see either Accounts Center or Meta Account settings as the place to manage your account settings.

If you have multiple profiles in the same Accounts Center or Meta Account, you’ll be able to see images or videos captured in your Meta Quest, including Meta Horizon Worlds, within the last 2 weeks in your Facebook or Instagram photo gallery.

You can decide which of your profiles have access to this media, or to disable this setting at any time in Accounts Center or your Meta Account settings.

Note: Only images and videos that have been captured in the last 2 weeks and have been successfully synced will appear in your Meta Cloud Albums. This means your Meta Quest headset needs to be synced with your Meta Quest mobile app. If you’re not seeing any media available, you may need to manually sync your media.

This setting will be automatically enabled for you if:

  • You’ve added your Meta Horizion profile and at least one Facebook or Instagram profile to the same Accounts Center or Meta Account; and
  • You have at least one recent image or video captured from Meta Quest in the last 2 weeks, synced from your Meta Quest gallery with your Meta Cloud Album.

Disable this setting, or choose which accounts can access the media in Accounts Center:

  1. From your Facebook or Instagram account settings, select Accounts Center.
  2. Select Connected Experiences.
  3. Select Meta Cloud Albums.
  4. Tap or click Toggle to choose which profiles can access media from your Meta Horizon profile.

Disable this setting, or choose which accounts can access the media in your updated Meta Account:

  1. From your Facebook or Instagram account settings, select Meta Account.
  2. Select Cross-profile experiences.
  3. Select Media on Meta devices
  4. Tap or click Toggle to choose which profiles can access media from your Meta Horizon profile.
