How we use autofill
Autofill helps you save time by allowing you to store contact and payment information for automatically filling in forms on your mobile device on Facebook or Instagram.
You can always turn off autofill or manage your saved information by going to your Facebook or Instagram browser settings.
How we use your autofill activity
We use your autofill activity to improve ads and other parts of your experience. We collect some of your autofill activity and some of it is provided by the businesses that own the websites where you use autofill. This activity includes:
- The website address where you use autofill.
- The time you use autofill.
- The fields you fill in using autofill.
- lf you use autofill and submit a form.
You can control our use of the activity businesses provide to us by going to your ad preferences in Facebook or Instagram. The card or bank account numbers you provide won't be used to improve ads and other parts of your experience.
Contact information or payment methods you enter into a form will be shared with the website or business after you submit it, even if you don't save your information for next time.
You may be prompted to use your device’s authentication as an additional layer of security to protect your autofill info. This is verified using the same fingerprint, facial recognition or screen lock that you use to unlock your device. Refer to your device settings to learn more about enabling and using these features. We do not receive, have access to, or store your fingerprint, facial recognition or screen lock data when you use this feature. This information is only kept on your device.
If you use autofill for forms outside of the Facebook or Instagram in-app browser, you can separately manage your information via the Facebook or Instagram Access Your Information tools.
How your contact information and payment method are stored
Your contact information and payment method are saved with Meta Pay for future payments and synced across your accounts in Accounts Center for easier management, unless you have opted not to sync your contact information or payment method, or you are otherwise ineligible for this payment experience.
Please note that after you make a purchase, you will not receive a receipt of your payment in your Meta Pay transaction history. You should receive a receipt from the site you made the purchase from.
Note: If you are in the European Region and subscribe to use our Products without ads, we won’t use your autofill activity to improve ads or other parts of your experience.
