How Meta combines and uses your information
If you live in the EU, we provide you with the choice to allow us to combine and use your information across Meta Company Products designated as a ‘Core Platform Service’ or considered to be an ‘other service’ under the Digital Markets Act in the following ways:
For accounts that are in the same Accounts Center
If you choose to add your accounts to the same Accounts Center, we’ll combine and use your information across your accounts in this Accounts Center on different Meta Company Products.
The Meta Company Products you can add to the same Accounts Center include Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Meta accounts.
You can manage the accounts we combine and use info across
You can manage which accounts on different Meta Company Products we combine and use information across:
- When you add accounts to the same Accounts Center, you’re allowing us to combine and use your information across those accounts on different Meta Company Products.
- You can remove accounts from the same Accounts Center at any time in Settings if you no longer want us to combine and use your information across this set of accounts.
- You can choose to keep your accounts in separate Accounts Centers.
- Learn more about how we use your information across your accounts in the same Accounts Center.
Ads
We also provide you with the choice to use Meta Products for free with ads, or to subscribe to use our Products without ads. Where applicable, you can manage this choice in the Ad preferences section of your Accounts Center settings.
If you choose to use Meta Products for free with ads, you will see ads (like in Stories or Reels) when you use Meta Products and we will use information from your accounts in the same Accounts Center to personalize ads for you and others and measure how they perform.
Here’s what to expect when you allow us to combine and/or use your information across accounts from certain Meta Company Products.
If you allow us to combine and/or use your information across accounts from certain Meta Company Products by adding your Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp account to an Accounts Center, your choice will also apply to any other accounts that are in the same Accounts Center. This also applies to the experiences that you allow us to provide through your Facebook or Instagram accounts, such as Messenger, Marketplace, and Threads.
For example, if you add a WhatsApp account to an Accounts Center in which you already have a Facebook account and an Instagram account, you allow us to combine and/or use your information across your Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp accounts.
Likewise, if you have a Facebook account and an Instagram account in your Accounts Center and you allow us to create a Threads profile using your Instagram account, that information will now also be combined and used across the Facebook account that is in the same Accounts Center.
